Description

The Nautical Knot is a romantic twist on the classic Old Fashioned that captures the essence of Charlie and Stephen's union and their elegant nautical-themed wedding. With the deep blue hue of the ocean, this cocktail combines the warm embrace of bourbon with a splash of vibrant blue curaçao, subtly accented by peach bitters and a delicate touch of sea salt. Like a knot tying two hearts together, each sip promises a seamless blend of smooth and refreshing flavors, while the elegant touch of gold evokes the shimmering allure of the open sea under the sun's tender gaze.

Ingredients

2 oz bourbon

1/2 oz blue curaçao

2 dashes peach bitters

1/4 oz simple syrup

a pinch fine sea salt

1 strip lemon peel

a light sprinkle edible gold dust

Instructions

1. Chill an Old Fashioned glass by filling it with ice and water. Set aside.

2. In a mixing glass, add the bourbon, blue curaçao, peach bitters, simple syrup, and sea salt.

3. Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir thoroughly for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.

4. Dump the ice and water from the Old Fashioned glass.

5. Strain the cocktail mixture into the chilled Old Fashioned glass over a large clear ice cube.

6. Gently express the lemon peel over the glass to release its oils, then drop it into the drink as a garnish.

7. Top with a light sprinkle of edible gold dust for a touch of elegance reminiscent of sunlight on the ocean waves.
